Hawaii Set to Legitimize Sports Betting
Lawmakers in Hawaii are now discussing a new piece of legislation that would approve sports betting. The discussion includes a 55% tax rate in any player winnings.
John Mizuno proposed House Bill 1815 hoping to get the state to follow the examples of other states like Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Arizona. John Mizuno, a Democrat lawmaker, said that the proposal was based on New York’s 50% tax rate.
So far, 31 American jurisdictions have legalized sports betting or some form of it. This happened in the wake of the revocation of the PASPA in 2018. Currently, Hawaii is like Utah, where any form of gambling is outlawed. As such, states like these are losing their share of the huge revenue of gambling, which is at $3 billion in just one quarter.
This proposal is just an opening salve, according to Mizuno. It is not final, and thus other representatives can propose changes and modifications.

Yggdrasil Partners With TG Reflex Gaming
Two big companies are partnering to make a new sci-fi slot machine. The slot is set in the early 20th Century, in Victorian England. Players will soon get to see a fresh take on the 5-row slot machine. What’s new is that despite having five rows, the slot only has three reels.
Players will have a chance to win at any of the 243 pay lines that feature the inventor, Nikola Tesla. The theme is time travel, and the game will be accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.
The slot offers low volatility, which is good for players who do not want high risks. It will also offer a 95.5% RTP. The maximum win here is €7,261.
The new game will feature the Pay-Rise mechanic that Reflex Gaming introduced in its debut products. In this mode, players will have more than 16,807 ways to win. There will also be extra spins after a win.
If the re-spin is successful, the reel will increase by one count. Lucky players will get to play at a maximum of seven reels. The number of rows will stay at five throughout the game.
The player must match three identical symbols from left to right like other slot machines. All wins must start from the first reel. Combos that begin on the second reel onwards do not comprise a win. There is also a chance at winning free spins in the game.
